Polling the Krewe: Turning Attention to Pro Days

NFL teams, managers, coaches and scouts are turning their attention to the next phase before of draft preparation: various college Pro Day workouts.

Pro Days give the college athletes another change to showcase their skills, this time on their own turf. While not quite as compelling as the NFL Scouting Combine, these events are well-attended by NFL teams looking for another glimpse at some of the rookie hopefuls. These individual performances can make up for a lackluster showing at the Combine and help bump names of lesser-known talent higher up the big boards.

As was so eloquently pointed out here, the Buccaneers will be among those in attendance at these college workouts around the country. And there are some big ones that might be drawing more attention based on what experts are saying the Bucs might do come draft day.

So, again, we turn to you. Let us know what you think is the most important college Pro Day for the Buccaneers to be keeping an eye on? The offensive line and defensive back talent in Alabama? A big-name cornerback and pass rush combo at Florida State? The first-round talent at tight end and linebacker up in Notre Dame?

Make your choice in the poll and share your thoughts with us in the comments!

Which is the most important college Pro Day for the Buccaneer scouts to visit in the next six weeks?

Ok, I get we need some defensive help BAD. We have almost $40 MILLION in cap space. There are quite a few good Defensive backs who we could pick up in FA. What we don’t have? A second GREAT receiver. Our options right now are to let Dougie Fresh run, or throw it up to Vincent Jackson. Tyler Eifert is HUGE, FAST, and has Super Glue on his hands. Our Tight Ends BLOW, I’m sorry but they do, and Mike Williams is Average. People don’t seem to remember that sometimes we had a LITTLE trouble scoring points. If we Have Eifert and VJ, It’s game over.

UGA should also have Rambo, Williams, and Commings listed, all are highly rated secondary players and could be 3rd-4th round steals

I think they should get Sean Smith, and Derrick Cox on free agency, there’s your two startiing corners, OK in the first round, they should draft either Sheldon Richardson, or Johnathan Hankins, with the second pick, I would draft either d.j swearinger, or tyrann mathieu, third pick, I would draft an o lineman, and so on just think what our backfield would look like mark Barron, d.j swearinger,or the honey badger, Sean Smith, and Derrick Cox, wow…your talking a very dynamic secondary

    Draft them Dawgs!

  9. I think both Jarvis Jones and Ogletree could be VERY good possibilities for the Bucs whether it be a trade back or not.
