Buccaneers Force Punt After Whirlwind Redskins’ Drive

PR Roscoe Parrish received the punt after the Buccaneer defense put an exclamation point on their strongest defensive stand so far, which saw the loudest stadium reactions of the game.

The Redskins’ drive began at their own 10-yard line. The first play resulted in a two-yard loss, and on second-and-12, Robert Griffin III was sacked by LB Mason Foster and DE George Johnson for a 7-yard loss and a near safety.

On third-and-19, Griffin dropped back and completed a short pass for three yards in the right flat. However, a roughing the passer penalty in the back of the end zone gave the Redskins a new set of down at the 16 yard line. Following one more first down and a Pierre Garcon pass interference penalty, the defense stood up on third-and-long forcing the punt.
