The Carolina Panthers are not shying away from their run game despite gaining just 10 yards in their first matchup with the Buccaneers.
The first play of the drive was a run to the outside by RB DeAngelo Williams, and like the first game between the teams, it was Mason Foster who registered the tackle for a loss.
Facing third down, Cam Newton connected with WR Steve Smith on a 17-yard shot across the middle, however the ball was called back on an illegal use of hand penalty on Carolina. Then, rushing just three, it was Bucs DE Da’Quan Bowers who dropped Cam Newton on a 10-yard sack.
The Buccaneers again have great field position, starting at their 49-yard line. They will look to add another score to their lead with 2:50 remaining in the first quarter.
