Defensive Stop and Parrish Return Put Bucs in Good Position

After starting with great field position after Oakland’s failed fake punt, the Buccaneers were held and forced to kick it away. Buccaneer P Michael Koenen dropped the ball inside the Oakland five yard line where it was touched first by Arrelious Benn, putting the Raider offense in a tough spot, starting at the six-yard line.

A quick pass to WR Darrius Heyward-Bey got them out of their jamb, but they couldn’t get anything started past that. The Buccaneer defense added one more stuff to their league-leading number of tackles for a loss, and Michael Bennett brought down Carson Palmer for his sixth sack of the year.

P Shane Lechler sent the Bucs another deep punt of 54 yards, but PR Roscoe Parrish was able to return it for the first time of day. He was able to take the punt back 20 yards setting up the Bucs near mid-field at their own 46. With 2:39 left in the half, the Bucs will try to add to their 7-3 lead before heading into half time.
