Vincent Jackson Has 84 Yards on Bucs’ First TD Drive

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers began the second quarter with possession on a third-and-15 from their own 15-yard line.

An on the first play of the quarter, the team that leads the league in pass plays of 40 or more yards struck again. QB Josh Freeman dropped back with great protection and unloaded to WR Vincent Jackson who hauled in his first reception of the day good for 64 yards. He was called for Unsportsmanlike Conduct on the play, which sent the ball back to the Oakland 36-yard line, but was still good enough to set up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a first down.

This is the sixth completion of 60+ yards so far this year, a Buccaneer record.

The Buccaneers got 16 yards closer on two consecutive Doug Martin runs up the middle, and on first-and-10 from the Oakland 20, Freeman found Jackson one more time on the right sideline in the end zone. Jackson caught the pass, tapping both toes in bounds and recording his sixth touchdown of the season.

Connor Barth connected on the extra point and the Buccaneers are up 7-3.

The ensuing kickoff went out the back of the end zone, the Raiders will start their next possession at their own 20-yard line with 12:54 remaining in the half.
