Bucs Defense Stands Tall on Goal Line

The Saints lead the Buccaneers 10-0 after K Garrett Hartley connected on a 25-yarder.

The Saints drive began at their own 19-yard line and made it all the way to the Buccaneer two-yard line, but the Bucs defense was able to corral them, forcing the three-pointer.

Drew Brees his six straight passes on the drive the brought them into the red zone. The first quarter ended as the Saints were knocking on the door from the Buccaneers’ six-yard line.

A one-yard run brought them to the five. Then a short pass took them to the two yard line. However, they were backed up to the seven yard line on a false start penalty before the first Drew Brees incompletion of the drive hit the turf, setting up the field goal.

The kickoff fell for a touchback and the Buccaneers will get the ball back at their 20-yard line, looking to make their first mark on the scoreboard. The Saints lead 10-0 with 13:27 left in the half.
