Saints 7, Buccaneers 0: First Quarter Statistics

The Saints offense got off to a quick start in this one, but since, no points have been put on the board. New Orleans found the end zone on the first drive of the game after Drew Brees led the Saints down the filed 76 yards, ending on a nine-yard TD pass to TE Dave Thomas.

For the Saints, Drew Brees has connected on 11 of his 12 passes for 129 yards and the touchdown. TE Dave Thomas was on the receiving end of the score and has one more reception bringing him to 21 yards. WR Marques Colston leads the receiving charge with two catches of 39 yards. Six Saints receivers have caught passes today. Darren Sproles is the leading rusher with one carry of 15 yards.

The Buccaneers are led by quarterback Josh Freeman who has hit on four passes for 53 yards and one interception. Mike Williams’ one reception for 24 yards leads the team. Doug Martin has 10 yards rushing on four carries.

The Saints have possession, driving on the Buccaneers and will run the first play of the second quarter from the Buccaneer 6-yard line.
