Glenn Dorsey, the former first-round pick who start at right end in Kansas City’s 3-4 defense, will miss his third straight game when the Chiefs play the Buccaneers on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Dorsey has been out since Week Four due to a calf injury and he did not participate in any of the Chiefs’ practices this week.
Dorsey is one of four players who have already been ruled out of Sunday’s game on Kansas City’s official injury report. The team had already announced on Thursday that starting quarterback Matt Cassel would be sidelined by the concussion he sustained last Sunday against Baltimore. In addition, running back Peyton Hillis (ankle) and wide receiver Devon Wylie (hamstring) are also no-gos for the weekend.
Hillis is listed as a co-starter with Jamaal Charles on Kansas City’s depth chart but has actually been the team’s third-most active back, with 21 carries compared to Shane Draughn’s 34. Draughn is also on K.C.’s injury report with an ankle ailment but he practiced fully on Friday and is considered probable to play. Like Dorsey, Hillis will miss his third consecutive game.
Wylie, a rookie, has not yet caught a regular-season but might have been in line for more action with receivers Jon Baldwin (hamstring) and Terrance Copper (calf) also on the Chiefs’ injury list. Both Baldwin and Copper are listed as questionable for Sunday, though Baldwin returned to full participation in practice on Friday.
The Bucs’ list is only four players long, and the only apparent question mark is defensive tackle Roy Miller and his aching back. The Captain’s Blog shared Head Coach Greg Schiano’s thoughts on Miller’s status earlier on Friday.
Here are the official injury reports for both teams on Friday:

For those needing a refresher on NFL injury report language, the four possible game status choices refer to the percentage of the chance that the indicated player will be able to participate in the game, at least nominally. In practice, there are varying shades of gray between the choices, with “questionable” being the only designation with much uncertainly about what will happen. NFL injury reports include the following definitions:
- Out = definitely will not play
- Doubtful = at least 75% chance will not play
- Questionable = 50-50 chance will not play
- Probable = virtual certainty will be available for normal duty
