Neither the Buccaneers nor Vikings practiced on Monday in advance of their prime-time meeting in Minnesota on Thursday, but both teams released an injury report. Since midweek reports essentially just give information on the players’ practice status, Monday’s lists were by definition just estimates. If the Bucs had practiced Monday, who probably would have been limited.
It’s still a fairly short list: LB Adam Hayward (ankle), WR Vincent Jackson (calf), CB Brandon McDonald (ankle) and G Carl Nicks (foot) likely would have had some limitations. Jackson and Nicks played through those same ailments in Sunday’s game against New Orleans, while McDonald and Hayward are new additions to the report this week. The Bucs also listed C Jeremy Zuttah (quad) but suggested that he would have been a full participant in practice.
Minnesota’s list is longer, and it includes some of the biggest names on the Vikings’ roster, but again, one can’t read too much into an injury report on a non-practice day. That said, RB Adrian Peterson (ankle), DE Jared Allen (groin), CB Antoine Winfield (knee), TE John Carlson (concussion) and T Matt Kalil (lower back) all might have missed any field work the team would have done on Monday. In addition, safeties Mistral Raymond (ankle) and Harrison Smith (calf) might have been limited. Of all those players, only Raymond did not play on Sunday against Arizona. Carlson left Sunday’s game after sustaining his concussion.
