Tampa Bay’s injury report isn’t extensive, but the names on it are certainly eye-catching.
The Bucs’ Thursday report included just two names, which actually made it double the size of their Wednesday report. Initially, only guard Carl Nicks was on the list thanks to a foot ailment. On Thursday, wide receiver Vincent Jackson joined Nicks on the list with a calf injury. Both players were limited participants in practice.
The Saints’ injury report is quite a bit longer, but not terribly concerning. Only two players – linebackers David Hawthorne (hamstring) and Scott Shanle (illness) – didn’t practice, while tight end Jimmy Graham was limited. The Saints have had to deal with a number of maladies on their linebacking crew, but the bye week appears to have been perfectly timed to get Graham, one of the league’s most dangerous tight ends, back in action.
