Buc Coaches Trust in Barth As a Long-Range Weapon

A story posted Monday on Buccaneers.com notes that Connor Barth not only has the league’s longest active streak of successful field goal attempts, at 21, but that he has kept the run alive despite commonly being asked to hit from long distances.

How true?  Among those 21 in a row are kicks from 55, 50 and 52 yards.  He has also made 11 other field goals between 40 and 49 yards during the streak, as Buccaneer coaches have grown increasingly confident that Barth will reward them for trying long kicks and not leave them in bad field position.

Overall, the 21 field goals Barth has made during his streak have come from an average distance of 40.1 yards.  No gimmies here.

To what does Barth attributed his continued hot streak, which brides the 2011 and 2012 seasons?  See his comments on the matter here.
