The Bucs have a different look in 2012, and people are paying attention.
Off to a 1-1 start that includes a rousing win over Carolina in Head Coach Greg Schiano’s regular-season debut and a near-miss against the defending Super Bowl champs in Week Two, the Bucs head to Dallas in Week Three to take on the 1-1 Cowboys. FOX is sending its number-one broadcast team – play-by-play man Joe Buck and analyst Troy Aikman – to call the action.
This marks the second straight week that the #1 crew for FOX has been assigned to a Tampa Bay game. Buck and Aikman also got the pleasure of describing the rather wild events between the Bucs and the Giants in the new Meadowlands last Sunday.
In the previous two seasons (2010-11), only one Buccaneers game had been called by the popular Buck-Aikman duo. That was last year’s thriller in Green Bay, where Tampa Bay put on a good show in a 35-26, during an otherwise uncompetitive stretch for the Buccaneers.
To get some advance preparation in with a team that has changed drastically since last season, Aikman visited One Buccaneer Place near the end of Schiano’s first training camp. Aikman left Tampa convinced that the Buccaneers had hired the right man for the job in Schiano. (Watch the accompanying Buccaneers Insider video here).
