On a first-and-five play, Redskins’ QB Robert Griffin III lined up in shotgun formation. He received the snap and took off on a designed run, right up the middle, and walked into the end zone for a score. It is his fourth rushing touchdown of the season.
The drive began on the Buccaneers’ 35-yard line after DeAngelo Hall picked off a Josh Freeman pass, intended for WR Vincent Jackson.
The Buccaneers’ defense held the Redskins on their first three plays, which set up a fourth-and-short. The Redskins converted their fourth down attempt rather than try another field goal on an Alfred Morris run.
Two more Morris runs later, Buccaneers’ DT Gary Gibson was called for encroachment on third-and-one from the 10 yard line. The next play was the five-yard Griffin score.
The ensuing kickoff was a touchback. Buccaneers will begin their next drive at their own 20-yard line with 7:26 remaining in the half.
