Saints Take it to 17-0 in Second Quarter

With good field position at the 33-yard line, the Buccaneers offense looked to be clicking on the first big Doug Martin run of the day giving them 11 yards and the first down.

On the next second down play, Freeman had Mike Williams wide open down the left sideline, but the ball flew just long of the target setting up third down. Then from third-and-14, miscommunication between Freeman and WR Vincent Jackson led to the second red zone interception of the day which was returned to midfield.

With the Saints now in position to add to their lead the Bucs stuffed a Saints run for a loss of three and looked to be setting up to get the ball back before a defensive holding penalty gave an automatic first down. Another stuffed run and incompletion made it another third down for the Saints when Brees found Marques Colston for 21 yards and the conversion.

Brees then hit Moore over the middle for a gain of 16, taking them down to the Bucs nine-yard line. A quick shot to RB Darren Sproles brought them to the two.

And on the next play it was Drew Brees to Darren Sproles on more time for the score. The Buccaneers will receive the kickoff with five minutes left in the second quarter.
