Two Redskins Hurt in Pregame Warmups
Among Washington’s seven inactive players for Sunday’s game at Raymond James Stadium are wide receiver Aldrick Robinson and safety Brandon Meriweather. It appears as if that might have been a sudden change of plans.
NFL.com is reporting an update from Tampa, with The Washington Post as the source, that Meriweather and Robinson collided in the stadium’s north end zone before the game, with both players being attended to by the medical staffs of the Bucs and Redskins afterward. Meriweather’s knee reportedly struck Robinson’s head; Meriweather limped to the locker room while Robinson stayed down on the field.
While neither Robinson nor Meriweather were listed as starters on Washington’s depth chart, it appears that one or both might have been on the verge of a promotion on Sunday. The Redskins have announced that Reed Doughty will replace DeJon Gomes at strong safety, and that Leonard Hankerson will replace Josh Morgan at wide receiver.
